5 Public

EPIC, Community, 5 Public, 8/2/17

5.1 Community: Each Garden Community is design to comfortably accommodate 1,000 Epiccissians in a four square mile area. The center of the community contains the public buildings of the Agora, sports fields, performance venues, meeting areas, baths and dining facilities. Radiating out from the central area are five residential arms, each providing accommodations for 200 Epiccissians. Orchards, fields, pastures and forests cover the area between each of the residential arms. Additional sport, performance and discussion venues are at the end of each residential arm with the balance of the area to the border of the community in forests, pastures and lakes. The mile wide separation between communities is in a natural state.

5.2 Agora: At the heart of each Garden Community is the Agora. The Agora is the main venue for discussions, performances and sporting events. The Agora is surrounded by the Halls of Enlightenment, baths, eating facilities and sports venues.

5.3 Halls of Enlightenment: The Halls of Enlightenment were composed of the halls of Mathematics, Music, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, The Arts, and Philosophy. Note: absence of history, engineering, political science, business and computer science; none of these are required any longer. At the moment of the Singularity history there was no more momentous events to be recorded beyond that of the transition period. All of the history that was to be written was written. The Epiccissians are aware of the history time of the pre-Singularity, however, it has little meaning or use for them. History is the story of the creation of the Singularity but history as such is no longer made. For the Epiccissian the past, present, and future are identical. The same was true for politics and business. They no longer existed, as what they were for is accomplished by EPIC in a far more efficient and effective manner. And in the fields of engineering and computer science at the Singularity both engineering and computer science were totally automated and consequently incorporated into EPIC.

5.3.1 The Halls are constructed of recycled concrete imported from the deconstruction of nearby pre-Singularity cities. The Halls provide working examples of Ancient Greek public buildings.

5.3.2 Each of the Halls is equipped with a theater that can accommodate several hundred. The theaters provide seating and lounging for the Epiccissians with a modest stage. Surrounding the theater are smaller rooms that accommodate 20 to 50. Each area in a Hall is capable of human scale holographic renderings.

5.3.3 Virtual worlds and augmented reality technologies no longer require hardware to manifest themselves. Since the development of the organic to digital interface the experience transpires completely within the individual’s mind. From an Epiccissian’s mental perspective, there is no distinction to be made among augmented, virtual and physical reality; they all work directly on the same brain cells in the same manner with equal reality.

5.4 Mathematics: The Hall of Mathematics is the first among equals as mathematics is the foundation of every other discipline. Mathematics is also the language that reveals and describes the Cosmic Force. Through mathematics it is possible to know the truths of various elements of the Cosmic Force. Mathematics represent absolute truth and provide the language to describe every phenomenon in the world of matter. Mathematics describe the vibrations and resonance of everything from the outer reaches of the Universe to the quantum realm of String Theory. Mathematics represent the speed and spin of galaxies and electrons. Everything in the physical world can be represented by a number.

5.4.1 The iconic symbol of Pi  is above the main entry door of the Hall of Mathematics. Pi is the heart and middle two letters of EPIC where E is for energy and C for the constant velocity of light as reflected in Einsteins famous E = MC2. During each day there are discussions with holographic forms of the great mathematicians of history who are honored for their revelations of the Cosmic Force. Every few days Archimedes is available for discussions with those interested in virtual first hand accounts of his discoveries and creations. On other days Pythagorus, Euclid, Newton or Einstein are available to personalize their work. The holographic creations draw on decades of scholarly work in both the work itself but also the psychology and speaking processes of the day. Archimedes will be speaking in the Greek of 3rd century Syracuse, Sicily. And since all Epiccissians are fluent in Greek they can appreciate the nuances of the discussion.

5.4.2 Archimedes is credited with making the world aware of the Pi even though there are  some who believe that it was a known number by the Egyptians as reflected in the Pyramids. The beauty of Pi is that is a dimensionless number that can never be completed yet it is always approaching perfection. Archimedes provided the world with the mathematical concepts of the atom, infinity, sphere, cylinder, lever, screw, nuts and bolts.

5.5 Music: Mathematics is the language by which the Cosmic Force can be understood. Music represents the words of the Cosmic Force and the vibrations are its primal essence. From the vibrations of strings in an eleven dimension world, or of the tides, or the Universe itself, everything is a factor of vibrations and resonance. Humans are at the upper end on the scale of resonance complexity. Humans have a wide range of responses to especially color, sound and movement sensations transmitted through the various senses. From the heart to the mind, the human body is a mass of constantly changing frequencies and sensations.

5.5.1 The Hall of Music allows the individual to hear and experience every sound that has ever been recorded, plus theorized sounds of long extinct animals and birds. Each individual has a personal set of resonance properties that elicit emotions from happiness to anger. By consciously creating various sounds each individual is able to craft intimate and intense personal feelings and experiences.

5.5.2 And like the Hall of Mathematics there are virtual world presentations by each of the great masters of music. Citizens can talk with Mozart of Bach to gain insights into their intentions for various portions of their music. Elvis shows how movement and rhythm combine for effect.

5.5.3 Music is understood to be another form of mathematics that has a powerful resonant force.

5.5.4 The Hall of Science includes all the hard sciences of physics, chemistry and biology. The Hall of Science makes strong use of virtual and augmented reality technologies. Whether it is being able to walk on the petal of a flower, inside a molecule or viewing a constellation, the experiences are as intense as if they were physically possible.

5.6 Philosophy: The final Hall is the Hall of Philosophy. Here a person can have a discussion with Socrates or Descartes. And since all of the writings of every philosopher are a part of the Cloud knowledge base each person through their linkage to the Cloud intuitively knows not only all of the writings but also all of the critical discussions that have analyzed them over the ages. Consequently, the discussions with the authors are on a much higher plane than would have been possible during their actual lives.

5.6.1 Other discussions are to be had with the Buddha, Jesus or Mohammad and some of the best are when the three of them compare and contrast their theology. For Jesus and Mohammad the concept of a Deity has been redefined as mythology that was once a core part of their belief system. Mythology, since it has no basis in fact, is available for review but is considered to have no practical purpose in the present time.

5.6.2 Likewise history has been curated to focus on the history of developments in mathematics, arts, and science. The soft sciences of political science, psychology and sociology have long since ceased to be relevant and are small footnotes. Where the pre-Singularity histories focused much of their attention on nation states, strong leaders and wars, none of that exists in the EPIC realm so knowledge of it has no useful purpose.

5.7 Baths: There is the main bath in the Agora and each residential arm has four smaller versions. Each bath has areas for men, women and communal bathing. The baths include showers, hot tubs, plunge pools and saunas and are intended for use to relax prior to the evening meal. The baths include massage areas provided by bots that address both muscular and hormonal relief. Since all Epiccissians are in ideal shape they are very comfortable with nudity and relaxing with each other.

5.8 Dinning: As with the baths there is a main dining area in the Agora and several smaller areas spread through out the residential arms. Epiccissians are vegans and enjoy two primary meals a day, a bunch and a supper in the late afternoon. Additional, treats are available through out the day on an as desired basis. With EPICs biometric sensor in each Epiccissian, a food or drink need is delivered just as it rises into consciousness. Meals feature items that are in season and are customized for the specific needs of each Epiccissian. Food preparation is in the underground food prep area with delivery to a local service bot through the underground tunnel system. The Epiccissians do not smoke, drink alcohol, or take recreational drugs.

5.9 Sports and performance venues: Stadiums are for theater, artists’ performances, presentations as well as sports. All of the stadiums have retractable roofs with full stage areas for gymnastics, dance, symphony and theater.  The central Agora stadium can seat the entire community. There are five additional stadiums, one in each of the residential arms that seat 300 each. A swimming pool was also part of the Agora facilities with equal facilities in each of the residential arms. The Epiccissian view of sports was not of competition but rather of personal development and team work. Consequently a racket game such as tennis was not to win against someone but rather to achieve a length of volley with increasing speed. In every case the Epiccissian was competing against their personal best rather than another person.

5.10 Housing: For the Epiccissians there was no concept of ownership or personal property. They owned nothing and everything. The entire community belonged to each Epiccissian equally. Their home was anywhere in the Garden Community that they happened to be. And other than the mother, child relationship from arrival to a few years old, age cohorts were more the order of association. Since everyone was in some way related and connected the entire community was essentially family. Consequently, sleeping areas were as diverse as relationships with single, double and multi-person facilities. All of the sleeping facilities were modular and EPIC constantly responds to relationship activities by modifying the facilities to meet the changing needs. In addition to sleeping areas each facility includes a bathroom and social area. All food and eating facilities are located outside of the sleeping areas.

5.11 General: Village power requirements per person are significantly less than during the pre- Singularity period since the physical transportation of people and materials is dramatically reduced. For the majority of the population staying within the village which is organized for walking and cycling, there is no need for any energy consuming vehicles. For the occasional requirement to travel beyond adjoining villages telepresence bots are used in place of physical organic travel. A telepresence bot is a humanoid representation of the person that provides total sensory input to the person along with full functionality of movement. With few exceptions all of the food requirements of the village are fulfilled primarily from hydroponic gardens underground that are managed by bots so very little in the way of food supplies is required to be transported into the village. The vegetable and flower gardens within the village are mainly to provide enjoyment to the villagers in caring for them. The vast majority of non-organic items are produced in underground facilities with 3D printers. 3D organic production is also done for food, decorative and organ related items. Raw materials for the 3D printers are provided via underground maglev vacuum shuttle pipelines that connect all of the villages to the regional hub. Since everything produced by 3D printers is recyclable once a village is established there is little need for additional raw materials. With the exceptions of energy, the Cloud and EPIC the village is essentially self sustaining.

5.12 Everything is automated and overseen by EPIC.
