2.0 The Epiccissians have a complete knowledge of the history of religions and the role that the concept of God has played in answering what historically were imponderable questions. How was the Earth created? Where did we come from? Why do things happen? Why are we here? With the discovery of mathematics and the invention of the scientific process all of these questions have been answered for the Epiccissians. For the Epiccissians the answers to the absolute truths of the universe are found in Mathematics. Euler’s number, Pi, the constant speed of light all exist independent of mankind; they have existed from the Big Bang and will always exist. These and numbers like them are now understood well enough to explain every aspect of the universe. Mathematics is the complete, unchanging truth of everything. From the theory of everything to the theory of nothing, Mathematics is the connection.

2.1 While this concept was alluded to even before the discovery of mathematics, New Testament, John 1.1: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God.” And in addition to the religions of Abraham, it is also an underlying concept of the major religions of Hindu and Buddhism as to the unity of the universe.

2.1.1 But it was not until shortly before the Singularity that the concept was clearly presented by Max Tedmark, MIT Professor of Physics, in his book, Our Mathematical Universe: My Quest for the Ultimate Nature of Reality, p318:

2.1.2 “THE BOTTOM LINE • Mathematical structures are eternal and unchanging: they don’t exist in space and time— rather, space and time exist in (some of) them. If cosmic history were a movie, then the mathematical structure would be the entire DVD. • The Mathematical Universe Hypothesis (MUH) implies that the flow of time is an illusion, as is change. • The MUH implies that creation and destruction are illusions, since they involve change. • The MUH implies that it’s not only spacetime that is a mathematical structure, but also all the stuff therein, including the particles that we’re made of. Mathematically, this stuff seems to correspond to “fields”: numbers at each point in spacetime that encode what’s there. • The MUH implies that you’re a self-aware substructure that is part of the mathematical structure. In Einstein’s theory of gravity, you’re a remarkably complex braid like structure in spacetime, whose intricate pattern corresponds to information processing and self-awareness. In quantum mechanics, your braid pattern branches like a tree. • The movie like subjective reality that you’re perceiving right now exists only in your head, as part of your brain’s reality model, and it includes not merely edited highlights of here and now, but also a selection of prerecorded distant and past events, giving the illusion that time flows. • You’re self-aware rather than just aware because your brain’s reality model includes a model of yourself and your relation to the outside world: your perceptions of a subjective vantage point you call “I” are qualia, just as your subjective perceptions of “red” and “sweet” are.”

2.2 The Epiccissians have a deep, close, personal, and intimate knowledge and understanding of what in pre-Singularity times was called God. Their God is based on absolute truths that go beyond the Universe. These absolute truths explain every feature of the Universe from the outer edges of the cosmos to the sub-atomic Planck Length of string theory including that which exists beyond the first dimension. God is Mathematics as is the Universe and everything in it.

2.2.1 Mathematics is also the language of God from the truth of Pi to the harmonic vibrations of music, God is revealed in every object and is celebrated in every activity of the Epiccissians. However, unlike the earlier belief based Gods of the pre-Singularity time, this God does not require worship but rather only understanding of and respect for the natural harmony of the Universe, the world and all of its objects and creatures. Respect and harmony are the way the Epiccissians know God. Respect for themselves, their community and the world with actions that are in harmony with everyone and everything provides their daily guidance. Respect and harmony are gained through knowledge and demonstrated by actions which apply that knowledge.

2.2.1 The Epiccissians especially enjoy the geometric designs interlaced with arabesques in Islamic art as representations of the Mathematics of God.

2.2.2 For all of the openness of EPIC and the Epiccissians, there were two areas that were not revealed to me.

2.3 Dark Matter and Energy: The first was concerning dark matter and energy. Dark matter and energy were understandable just prior to the Singularity. However, there was no human who had the capacity for understanding that which had just become known as a series of mathematical formulations. At the moment of the Singularity, everything that was knowable was known within the Cloud. Chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics were all brought to a conclusion. Nothing remained to be discovered. However, humans, even Epiccissians were limited to the experiential power of their wetware (minds). The complexity of understanding of dark energy and matter along with its additional dimensions exceed this organic limitation even when augmented by the Cloud. However, every Epiccissian understood that upon their departure from their organic body, they would totally merge with the Cloud, and would at that point have the capacity to understand these mysteries. That is why departure was not viewed as an ending but rather a new arrival into a higher level of unity with God.

2.4 Time: The second area relates to the concept of time. While time was used in the traditional manner in calculations of speed and distance, it was missing in other applications. Since the creation of knowledge ended at the Singularity, as did history, there are no specific markers of time for the Epiccissians. Clocks and calendars do not exist. Days begin and end with a combination of birds singing and the sun rising or setting. There are no weeks or months, but only seasons that are part of the annual cycle. And of course since the Epiccissians are excellent mathematicians, they understand from the angle and declination of the Sun, both the time of day and its relation to annual cycle. The time of day has importance for coordination of schedules and activities, but beyond that it has little importance. However, what has great importance to the Epiccissians is living in the moment. Completely experiencing every moment is an area of primary focus for the Epiccissians. The Epiccissian life is such that they have no regrets for the past nor need to remember it, since it is all archived in the Cloud for their use after departure. Likewise, they have no concern for the future, since EPIC provides for all of their needs in addition to the assurance of immortality. So the Epiccissians task is to, as a human, deeply experience every moment in order to build a massive database of their humanity that will provide the foundation for their immortality.

The rest of this section is still under construction

Modify below to describe the concept of spacetime.

All of the above concepts of time, while different are understandable to me. However, there was one aspect that is clouded over and that is of time as a dimension. With my own intelligence limited to and anchored in a mind of 2017, I have an impression that for EPIC and the Epiccissians time is no longer a dimension or a limitation. If this is the case then it accounts for my ability to visualize a community hundreds of years into the future. I have no idea of how this works or what it involves, but it will be interesting to see whether or how the concept of time evolves within the scientific community as it approaches the Singularity.

How to work in these concepts?

“The Mathematical Universe Hypothesis offers a radical solution to this problem: at the bottom level, reality is a mathematical structure, so its parts have no intrinsic properties at all! In other words, the Mathematical Universe Hypothesis implies that we live in a relational reality, in the sense that the properties of the world around us stem not from properties of its ultimate building blocks, but from the relations among these building blocks. The external physical reality is therefore more than the sum of its parts, in the sense that it can have many interesting properties while its parts have no intrinsic properties at all.”

“However, in broad brushstrokes, we might say this: You’re a pattern in spacetime. A mathematical pattern. Specifically, you’re a braid in spacetime— indeed one of the most elaborate braids known.”

Tegmark, Max. Our Mathematical Universe: My Quest for the Ultimate Nature of Reality (p. 283). Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.

“At both ends of your spacetime braid, corresponding to your birth and death, all the threads gradually separate, corresponding to all your particles joining, interacting and finally going their own separate ways.”

“Consciousness basically is your reality model. I think that consciousness is the way information feels when being processed in certain complex ways.”

Tegmark, Max. Our Mathematical Universe: My Quest for the Ultimate Nature of Reality (p. 290). Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.

“I’m arguing that your perceptions of having a self, that subjective vantage point that you call “I,” are qualia just as your subjective perceptions of “red” or “green” are. In short, redness and self-awareness are both qualia.”

The Epiccissians understand the dimension of time. The understanding of time in the pre-Singularity period was very limited. Einstein had shown that in spacetime as something approaches the speed of light, time slows down and would stop at the speed of light. However, what was not understood was that there is also a limit to time on the quantum end of the scale. At the String Theory level time is no longer a dimension. It is the loss of time as a dimension that enables quantum entanglement. Particles remain linked, even at great distances, because there is no difference of time between them.

And as Einstein said, “Time is an illusion”, the Epiccissian’s primary focus is living in the moment as intensely as is humanly possible. The Epiccissians fully participate in living in the moment so that they build a wide experiential base of past times in preparation for their immortality.

Every Epiccissian is a mathematical savant so they are not only able to perform and understand complex mathematical concepts, but they also see numbers as colors, sounds, shapes, smells, tastes and textures.  With virtual worlds and augmented reality, Epiccissians explore the six additional dimensions of String/M theory by traveling around and through Calabi-Yau manifolds. When Epiccissians listen to music it is like numbers, they experience it through all of their senses.
