EPIC, People, 2 Arrivals and Departures 7/31/17

2.0 In the pre-Singularity time humans experienced birth and death. The Epiccissians experience arrivals and departures.

2.1 Arrivals are arranged between a woman in her mid to late twenties. The cultural expectation is that women will generally have at least one child, about half of the women will have two. Since women make up 65% of the population this birth maintains the stability of the community. Pregnancies take place in the women’s early to mid-twenties.

2.2 The arrival is initiated in the Bot Lab with an in vitro fertilization of the woman’s egg with sperm derived from stem cells from males in the twenty to thirty five cohort and are sorted to provide the optimum DNA matches. This process of DNA selection has eliminated any genetic defects as well as recessive genes. The genetic engineering results in an adult that will have black hair, slightly almond shaped dark eyes and a light brown skin color. The body type and look is very similar to the Polynesian race in pre-Singularity times. This amalgamation was achieved through millions of combinations of the DNA of all the pre-Singularity races in proportion to their population at the time of the Singularity. The result is that now there is a single race of people, the Epiccissians.

2.3 Once the egg is fertilized it is implanted in the mother-to-be and comes to term in the usual nine months. During her pregnancy all of the vital signs of the mother and fetus are monitored by EPIC with adjustments to diet, exercise and rest as needed. Pregnant women are the treasures of the community and everyone is sensitive to insuring that their every need is fulfilled.

2.4 Since pregnancy is no longer a result of sexual intercourse none of the males of the natural breeding age have any idea of whether they are all or part of the DNA that was used to create the sperm. Consequently, they are all considered fathers of each of the arrivals and as a cohort share that role. Males as they reach puberty, are sterilized in a coming of age rite that is a laparoscopic procedure performed by a surgeon bot. Consequently, sexual activity is unrestrained as a show of affection, a physical exercise and a process of developing intimacy and caring. And with their aging process stopped in their mid thirties the Epiccissians remain sexually active until their departure.

2.5 With the superior physical conditioning of the mother plus the extensive pre-natal care natural bot-assisted births are the norm and are without complications.

2.6 Each arrival is cause for celebration by the entire community. The high point of the celebration is the transferring of the name. The transferring of the name is from the person who is of the same sex as the arrival and who will depart later in the day. Of the thousand residents of the community there are a thousand unique first names. Surnames were abandoned right after the Singularity so all the villagers have first names with unbroken histories that link them to those who are now immortal. In addition to the transfer of the name the person who is about to depart assumes the role of “God” parent to the child. So now the child is identified with the mother, the “God” parent and a cohort of fathers.

2.7 There are ten arrivals and departures each annual cycle. There are no longer weeks or months or years but rather four seasons of about 90 days that mark an annual cycle. The seasons correspond to the Sun cycle of the equinoxes and solstices. Each child is assured of having 400 seasons for 100 annual cycles. The weeks and months of the pre-Singularity time became irrelevant when neither human work nor farming were required. As with the retired during that time all days became similar. As for years while they were useful for measuring eras and epochs in the pre-Singularity times, after the Singularity with the beginning of the EPIC realm there was no longer a need for such markers as each annual cycle was substantially the same as previous ones. At the Singularity everything in terms of science that could be known was known so after the Singularity there is nothing left to be developed in science. With the entire world populated by a single race who lives in self-contained villages that are essentially identical with a common culture the problems of politics, religion and all the pre-Singularity sufferings of the human race were eliminated. History for all practical purposes came to an end. And since there were no longer any politicians or soldiers, most of what was known as history become irrelevant. The focus turned to the history of the universe, mathematics and science, all of which are representations of the Cosmic Force.

2.8 Arrivals were viewed as the beginning of a period of separation from the Cosmic Force where the individual was given one hundred annual cycles in which to perfect their human essence which on their return to the Cosmic Force as marked by their departure, they would extend and enhance the realm of the Cosmic Force.

2.9 Consequently, Departures were celebrations that were even bigger than Arrivals since the individual over their life time had bonded with the entire community. During the morning of their departure they would attend the Arrival of their name sake and replacement and have an opportunity to connect with their “God” child. This connection was very important in that the child would always know that they had a direct connection to the Cosmic Force. This connection in addition to the one to their birth mother and father cohort gave the child a significant number of first level connections that would always be there when they had any need. Of course EPIC was always there as well monitoring their emotional and physical well being but EPIC’s influence was more subtle and worked mainly through their diet, exercise programs and encouragement of personal connections through adjustments in hormones, along with chemical and electrical stimulations in the brain.

2.10 The entire community attended each Departure with a great deal of singing, dancing and eulogies with the person to Depart as the guest of honor. This is the only time in their lifetime that they have been singled out for honor.

2.11When the Departure time arrives the individual lays down on a specially equipped bed where the process of uploading their human essence to the Cosmic Force takes place. The entire community can monitor the process as the line on each persons internal data line shows the percentage of completion. When the line reaches the end and the screen goes away a for a few seconds as the uploading is completing there is an open connection between the mortal and immortal worlds, and each side does their best to share their music and energy with the other.

2.12 Departures are scheduled for the end of the day and coincide with the setting sun.

2.13 For the Departed after one hundred years they are again free of the constraints of the human form and are again at one with the Cosmic Force, but with the addition of the human essence that was developed during that life form. So the Departed is an enhanced return to the Cosmic Force. Such Enhanced Returnees have an indeterminate period of time during which their essence can interact with the essences of other recent Returnees. And it is from this pool of resources that EPIC draws from to create quantum entangled proton probes that are being launched to populate the rest of our galaxy and beyond.
